New Touche Amore Album Fall 2013

It's no secret that I'm a huge Deathwish Records fanboy. If you're like me, you probably got overly excited by the brief and nondescript video teasing Touche Amore's upcoming third album.

Since late last year, I've been predicting that 2013 would be a huge year for Deathwish due almost entirely to new releases from Deafheaven and Touche Amore. I've also been predicting that these new releases would help to put Deathwish on the map for some people, since they really branch out from the label's typical doom and gloom hardcore.

The latest teaser of Touche Amore seems to support my theory.

The teaser, at a little over a minute in length, cuts together a bunch of studio footage with the band's Parting the Sea logo in the foreground moving around like a clock.

The background music, presumably an instrumental demo of an new track, is very post-rock/indie and chill for about the first minute. Then it really kicks off for a few seconds in the traditional Touche Amore fashion before abruptly stopping.

It's in a similar vein to TA's "Gravity, Metaphorically," which was released on the band's split with Pianos Become the Teeth earlier this year.

According to Deathwish's press release, this week, Touche Amore will begin recording with Brad Wood--known for recording albums with Sunny Day Real Estate, Hum, Far, Smashing Pumpkins, Placebo and mewithoutyou. I guess the band is really trying to blend their hardcore sound with classic emo, post-hardcore and alternative rock.

The album, currently no title has been released, will come out this fall. Below is the band's teaser and "Gravity, Metaphorically."
