Cloudkicker Outtakes, Demos, B-Sides

Check out some free buried treasure from everyone's latest music crush Ben Sharp aka Cloudkicker. There are currently 41 new/old tracks with the possibility of more being added later.

Just minutes ago I saw AbsolutePunk's posting about Cloudkicker releasing some unused demos from the previous recording sessions.

There are nine tracks total. Two of them appear to be from the Beacons sessions, five are from the Fade sessions, and the other two do not appear to be attached to any album session.

All are presumably named after the date they were written or recorded, and all of them are available for free download through his Soundcloud.

I'm most of the way through listening to all of them. They're all decent songs, but at the same time I'm glad none of them were on any albums. Though, "August 27, 2006" has some potential.

What AbsolutePunk didn't notice was that Cloudkicker's Bandcamp was also updated, and now features one new (old) album.

The album (more like collection of songs) is titled myspace.com/musicistight and features 32 tracks I've never seen before -- though they were apparently previously available.

According to Sharp on the album's page:
I started to write these songs because I wanted to do something other than intricate technique-heavy distortion riffs for a little while.

I was able to find the original .wav files for some of the tracks, but most of them are just 192 kbps .mp3 files that I saved as .wav so I could upload them to Bandcamp. Just so you know.

And this is what he said about these tracks on his blog:
I finally got around to thinking about a way to put all the old myspace music on Bandcamp. Go here. I like that everything is in one place now.
I've so far skimmed through many be every other track so far. It's pretty lite stuff -- not really what I was expecting from Sharp. But at the same time, it's undeniably Cloudkicker. But judge for yourself, it's streaming below.

I'll download these later and give them a better chance tomorrow.

What do you think about these demos? Find any diamonds-in-the-rough that I may have skipped over and should for sure go back and check out?
