New Dillinger Escape Plan song 'Prancer'

SPOILER ALERT! It slays.

Is that really much of a spoiler?

Today, The Dillinger Escape Plan have released its latest single "Prancer" through all digital media outlets (here's a friendly little link to Amazon). The song is off the band's upcoming album One of Us is the Killer, due out May 14.

Don't let the simplicity of the single's cover art fool you; 'Prancer' is absolutely insane.

While recent albums have occasionally featured more of a traditional verse-chorus-verse structure, sometimes singing vocals and less complex riffs, this song is easily the closest thing to definitive "mathcore" album, Calculating Infinity, Dillinger Escape Plan have done in a long time.

The last single the band released, "Farewell, Mona Lisa," which also served as the intro to Option Paralysis, is extremely tame in comparison. In fact, 'Prancer' is easily heavier than most of that album.

And, is it just me or do Greg Puciato's vocals sound far more sinister than before? What do you think? Leave a comment below!
